Ecoscape

Ecoscape is a fictional app created to meet the needs of young people who desire to be outdoors but need greater motivation in a digital world. Using location services, the app creates personalized challenges based on interest and accessibility.

Information Architecture

  • We created an information architecture (IA) graph to map the app’s structure, showing how components and features connect.

  • This helped us streamline navigation, improve the user journey, and ensure an intuitive, efficient design

Overview / Initial Research

  • Here, I collaborated with a teammate to design an app addressing a real-world issue, conducting UX research through surveys, user testing, and critiques to inform UI design.

  • Initially we explored creating an app as a VR nature experience, but pivoted based on user survey feedback sent to our target audience. We decided to develop an app encouraging outdoor app rather than replace the experience in nature.

User Flow

  • All the design assets were crafted to link the user back to the full Fragmented Feed article on Trilligent’s website

  • Trilligent had no full time design personal, so all of the work had to be in a template to ensure a seamless workflow for the team in line with their current branding

Design Systems

Final App Design

  • After user testing, the home page need to made more visible so an icon was placed in the middle as per our suggestions.

  • We leaned further into the gamified aesthetic with various full and half page illustrations, and we added micro animations, such as a progress meter associated with prizes to keep the user motivated.
