WIREFRAMING

Some early issues popped up during user testing where users could not easily access the home button.

We made the home button more visible, added a prize page to give greater incentive for participation, and added trackers for progress.

CREATIVE BRAINSTORMING

Ecoscape was created to answer the question “why are we struggling to spend time outside”? Something so basic like spending time in nature isn’t simple to plan due to responsibilities. So I conceptualized an app bringing the outdoors to you.

TARGETING USER MOTIVATION

Initially, I thought creating an app to replicate an experience in nature similar to meditation was the answer. But after reviewing 50 data responses, our target audience wanted to be outside more. They just lacked motivation to do it.

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

We created an information architecture graph to map the app’s structure, showing how components and features connect. This helped us streamline navigation, improve the user journey, and ensure an intuitive, efficient design.

MAPPING THE USER JOURNEY

We created a user flow that maps out the user journey starting with onboarding that leads to the home page and later prize pages, social media pages, and a leader board.

FINAL DESIGN

We leaned further into the gamified aesthetic with various full and half page illustrations.

Micro animations were added, such as a trophy cup with stars and a progress meter to increase joy and motivation.
